Volunteering is a meaningful way to make a difference to SYA, to the young people it prepares for lives of global citizenship, to prospective parents who are making the decision to let their children attend SYA and to the alumni who often renew old friendships and discover new ones.

We encourage you to take an active role and volunteer for SYA. Here are the ways you can contribute your time and energy to SYA's mission. Please contact the Alumni office with any questions by calling 978.725.6828 ext 189 or emailing Susan McLean, Associate Director of Advancement, Director of Alumni Relations.

Help us strengthen and engage alumni — and future students— around the world:

  • Class Ambassadors support the mission of SYA by promoting and facilitating class engagement, thus strengthening relationships within the SYA alumni community. They also champion the importance of financial support, waving the banner for participation in the SYA Fund among classmates. Does your class have one? Find out here.
  • Mentors have the opportunity to advise fellow alumni looking for information about colleges and universities or a variety of professions. It is wonderful to connect them with fellow alumni who have experience with schools or businesses of interest. Sign up to be a mentor on our College and Career Connect section of ConnectSYA.
  • Admissions Ambassadors, our youngest alumni, promote their SYA experience back on their high school campus. (See more below.)
  • Reunion Committee Members assist with organizing and planning class milestone reunions.
  • Event Committee Members assist with organizing and planning virtual and social gatherings, such as geographic, young alumni and college-based receptions.
