International Perspectives on Civil Liberties and COVID-19
March 17, 2022
1 p.m. EDT (6 p.m. Paris)

Should public health take precedence over individual choice? COVID-19 has forced governments everywhere to adopt policies and measures that would have been inconceivable to many people a few years ago.

Who has power over your body and when should individuals accept restrictions on some of their freedoms to protect the safety and well-being of their community?

In this exclusive News Decoder webinar, students from School Year Abroad will share on-the-ground reporting they have conducted in three European democracies – France, Italy and Spain – that in different ways have struggled to balance public health concerns with civil liberties.
