Kaleidoscope Campaign
60 years of students. 60 years of faculty. 60 years of host families. 60 years of friendships. 60 years of language learning. 60 years of newfound knowledge, perspectives and appreciation for our greater global community.
As we honor this incredible milestone, we are reminded of the countless ways SYA has impacted lives. From fostering lifelong friendships to inspiring future careers, the experiences our students have gained across all eight of our campuses are long-lasting and invaluable.
You can ensure that this life-changing opportunity continues for future generations of SYAers. When you support our school, you allow students to travel with their classmates to experience different cultures within their host countries, you empower teachers to participate in workshops and professional development to hone their skills, you create opportunities for students to attend SYA who otherwise may not have the means. The support of our community is critical to our success each and every year.
Through the Kaleidoscope Campaign, we aim to raise $6 million to ensure every aspect of the SYA experience thrives — from expanding student aid, to enhancing campus facilities, to empowering our faculty with resources for professional growth and sustaining vibrant campus life each and every day. Join us in ensuring that future generations of SYAers continue to see the world in transformative new ways.
Multi-year pledges are payable through June 30, 2027.
SYA Fund
The SYA Fund is the primary way in which our community comes together to support students and faculty. In an average year, tuition covers approximately 85% of expenses. We rely on the generosity of the SYA community to provide the remaining funds needed to run our campuses. What do these expenses include? Just about everything! The SYA Fund supports travel experiences, fieldwork, extracurriculars, teachers, host families, student aid, campus maintenance and so much more. Without it, we simply could not provide the exceptional study abroad experience SYA is known for.

Barcelona Suite
Introducing the Barcelona Suite, SYA’s newest and most exciting addition to our home in Zaragoza, named in honor of our original home in Spain from 1964 to 1998. Conveniently adjacent to Casa Foster 64, this expansive 1,135-square-foot space was initially leased during the pandemic to accommodate social distancing. When the opportunity arose to purchase and transform it, SYA knew the community would rally to support this meaningful capital project. Now, with renovations almost complete, the Barcelona Suite will soon boast two modern classrooms and additional bathrooms, enhancing the SYA experience and creating vibrant new spaces for learning and growth.

Vilalta Funds
Over 20 years ago, a dedicated group of SYA Spain alumni launched an initiative to honor the legendary Ángel Vilalta. Their efforts created the Ángel Vilalta endowed funds, now valued at over $300,000, supporting scholarships and educational programs at SYA Spain. As we raise additional funds to keep pace with rising expenses, we continue to honor Sr. Vilalta’s legacy. Though he passed away in 2021, his influence lives on, inspiring generations of students from SYA’s beginnings in Barcelona in 1964 until his retirement in 1998.

World of Opportunities Fund
The World of Opportunities Fund ensures that every student, regardless of socioeconomic background, has an equal chance to explore, learn and grow while studying abroad. While SYA offers generous financial aid to qualified applicants each year, there are times when those students find themselves unable to fully participate in activities with their peers abroad. The World of Opportunities Fund bridges financial gaps, ensuring that every student, irrespective of financial circumstances, can explore their passions beyond the classroom.
