FRIDAY, APRIL 25
Trencadís Workshop - A Gaudí-Inspired Experience
12-2 p.m.
20-26 Carrer de les Carolines, Barcelona
Channel your inner artist in this decorative technique class that consists of creating mosaics with irregular pieces of ceramic or other easily fragmented materials, normally used to decorate exterior vertical surfaces. This technique was widely used during Catalan modernism, with its architects and craftsmen reaching a great degree of dexterity in its execution. It was above all Gaudí who popularized its use, being one of the most striking features of his works. Best of all? You'll take home your artwork!
OPTIONAL (also available on Sunday morning). Class is limited to 18 people.

Tour of Hospital Sant Pau

As you tour the Hospital Sant Pau with SYA Spain’s Oriol Bastardes, you will be captivated by the intricate mosaics, sculptures and other exquisite details that demonstrate the belief in the healing power of beautiful surroundings. You will explore the harmonious integration of gardens, courtyards and green spaces that created tranquil surroundings for patients and visitors. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, this modernist hospital was fully functional until 2009 when it closed for restoration and became a museum and historical site.
While this event is sold out, we have established a wait list in case spaces become available.
Flavors of the Mediterranean: An Interactive Culinary Experience
3-5 p.m.
Club de Natación

Explore Mediterranean and Catalan cuisine in this interactive two-hour workshop. Rotate through four stations featuring local experts, tasting classic red vermouth, learning the art of drinking from a porró, crafting a personalized gilda and making your own coca de recapte. Includes two local drinks and hands-on snack-making.
For those who register for the flamenco performance, hop aboard the chartered bus that will take you to your next destination.
Tablao Flamenco Cordobes Barcelona

Established in 1970 by a family of artists, this historic venue has hosted legendary flamenco performers, earning its place as a beacon of authenticity in the flamenco world. Its hand-crafted Nazarite-inspired décor, created by official restorers of the Alhambra, pays homage to Arab-Andalusian culture, a root of flamenco. Experience the passion of flamenco on its original stage, a tablao.

As soon as the excursions are confirmed, priority registration will be given to those who have already completed registration for the Zaragoza portion of the celebration.

Travel to Spain
Did you know about the new travel requirements for U.S. passport holders to enter Europe? ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) hasn't launched yet ... it may not be required until mid-2025. Sign up for updates and news on the ETIAS site, and, of course, we'll keep you updated as best we can. For those who might be considering a flight with a stop in London, you can apply for the ETA visa beginning January 8. Please note that ETIAS would also be required if it launches prior to the celebration.
