COVID-19 Preparedness and Planning

Congratulations to students accepted into the class of 2022! We are excited to share this journey with you, one that may look and feel a bit different from previous years but will nevertheless give you an unparalleled opportunity to explore a new country and culture. You will be following in the footsteps of thousands of School Year Abroad (SYA) students before you who have immersed themselves in our study program abroad over the span of almost 60 years.

At SYA, we hold the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff and community as our highest priority. Although uncertainty remains in the international health community as the COVID-19 pandemic evolves, public health measures taken throughout the world have become normalized and people have grown accustomed to changes in how we interact with each other.

We hope you will find the following information detailing SYA’s COVID-19 preparation informative and reassuring. Please carefully read the information that follows for general information applying to all campuses on how we will reopen our programs in fall, 2021. Each campus has also compiled a list of additional external COVID-19 Resources that we encourage you to review.

Congratulations again to students accepted into the class of 2022! Below is a recording of the Health & Safety webinar held on March 11, 2021. If you have questions regarding campus safety and School Year Abroad’s reopening plans, please contact Sam Gammons at sgammons@sya.org.
