Lake Bell FR’96 appears in Oprah Magazine’s March list of “Best Movies About Divorce.” It’s Complicated – #3 on the list – includes Meryl Streep who plays a woman who divorced her cheating husband, played by Alec Baldwin, who married the woman he cheated with, played by Lake Bell, who has no idea her husband is having an affair with his ex-wife, Meryl Streep. Did you get that? It's complicated; this may help.
Jason Blum FR’86 doesn’t agree with 99% of Hollywood thinking. Louise Derbes ES’89, head of sales for Stable, a risk management firm that protects food and agriculture business from volatile commodity prices, took part in last week’s trade mission to Colombia, organized by Knowledge Transfer Network, The International Center for Tropical Agriculture and the British Embassy in Bogotá. Colombia’s agricultural sectors are developing rapidly, and stakeholders are fully committed to putting in place comprehensive risk management solutions to ensure a sustainable agricultural future for the country.
Robin Hauser FR’82’s documentary, Bias, was recently screened as part of the Spokane International Film Festival. “Bias” explores the scientific underpinnings of unconscious bias and its effect socially and in the workplace. Included in the film is research from the Counter Bias Training Simulation, created by researchers from Washington State University Spokane, provides bias training to law enforcement. Read more.
